HOW WE MET
As a couple, put together a special book detailing the
history and story of how you met and fell in love. Include photographs
from when you were dating, along with any memorabilia from the past. You
may even want to include pictures from your wedding, or letters you have
written to one another. As you reflect on your past, this book will bring
you closer as a couple and will include your family in this very important
part of life. Children love to hear stories about their parents, and by
sharing this book, you are teaching them how valuable and sacred a loving
relationship is. This story will become a family favorite and your
children will ask to hear it over and over again.
VALENTINE COUNTDOWN HIDE-AND-SEEK
This works for
any upcoming holiday or special occasion. All children, no matter what
their age may be will love being a part of this pre-Valentine's Day
tradition.
Supplies you'll need: scissors red paper
miscellaneous treats (candy, pens, stickers, etc.)
Directions: 1. Cut out 14 red hearts, about 3" in diameter (not
too big). Label each one with a number 1-14. 2. Starting Feb. 1, hide
the heart with number 14 on it, along with a little surprise or sweet
note. 3. The kids hunt for the heart, and when they see the number on
it, they know how many more days till Valentines -- or whatever holiday it
is (birthday, vacation, etc.) 4. They then put the heart on the fridge
or bulletin board or wherever you want the countdown to Valentine's Day to
go.
This is fun for them, helps them learn to count backward, and
keeps them from asking "how many days" over and over.
HEART MAGNETS OF THE FAMILY
Extend your Valentine's Day by making family pictures that
can be displayed throughout the year on your refrigerator. You will need 5
supplies for this project: magnet paper (found at a craft store), glue,
paper, markers and photos of every family member. Cut out the faces from
the photos and paste each face onto a drawing where the bodies are all
made of hearts. Next glue each drawing onto the magnet paper and put up on
your refrigerator. It's a Valentine's craft that stays special year round.
